When Nothing But a Miracle Will Do
Rhonda has been singing and writing since early childhood but her big break came in 2003 with a song co-written with Aaron Wilburn. “When Nothing But a Miracle Will Do” topped out at 2 and became the 8 song of the year for the Singing News when recorded by the McRaes. It had been recorded in 2001 by Christian music moguls the Arnold’s. This yielded a 21 spot on the Singing News Chart. Rhonda’s wide range of experience and talent has gained the attention of Tim McGraw’s band (The Dance Hall Doctor’s) as the back up group for her showcases, plus helping produce and arrange various studio sessions. Her latest CD project was co-produced by Denny Hemmingson and engineered by Jim Lightman who has worked with artists such as Leann Womak, and India Arie as well as numerous others.
Rhonda has regional TV and radio interview credits and has just finished her first independent film project. She continues to expand her reach beyond live performances and is currently writing and producing jingles for television and radio.
In addition, Rhonda has used her songwriting skills to promote tourism throughout Southern Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. This seemed to come naturally as Rhonda was raised along the Ohio River in Southern Illinois.
Being motivated, passionate and hard working, Rhonda has sung for many political functions and met the President of the United States. One of the hardest but most honored requests she’s had to sing for, as of late, was that of a fallen hero in Iraq who was brought home to be honored by thousands for his service to the cause of freedom.
Rhonda actively supports many community causes and assists multiple organizations.
While trying to describe her music and vocal style, Rhonda says, “I’d call it ‘River Bottom Blues’ since I live near the river and grew up listening to all kinds of music that range from country to soul.” “Both sides of my family were accomplished country and bluegrass musicians so my passion for music comes naturally.”
There’s no doubt that Rhonda’s heartfelt interpretations can move listeners with her recordings as well as with her live performances. Rhonda’s determination and focus is the driving force that keeps her moving forward and gaining interest in an industry looking for real talent.
